An October painting

Hello blog readers!
This scene, another one of my typical old house/landscape compositions, was painted this past Sunday at a little hillside area just south of Marietta Square.  There's an open field there where a stalled condominium construction sits,  and presently it affords some wonderful views of the Marietta area. I hope to get back there to paint another scene before the fall color runs out.
'til next time,
John

  1. Another beauty, John. I love your work! I love the shadow falling on the house from the tree. And also the crazy looking pole in the foreground which most folks would've left out :) What is that thang anyway? Hope you're doing well, my friend.

  2. thanks gina
the dappled light/shadow on the house is difficult to paint...i'm never really sure how to do it; but in this case it turned out o.k. That white pole in front is some kind of utility wire casing tube set up for when they build the new condo there.,at which point this scene will no longer be very interesting..

  3. I purchased a watercolor recently I believe the name is signed as j Guernsey either 08 or 68. It is a farm scene with a house and red Barn. Would that be your painting?
